Pekan Nenas Bird house check

Few months back, the owner of this bird house invite me to check what happen with his BH which locate at Pekan Nenas. Why after all this time, zero bird nest.

Above are just a photo of the BH near location on the way. By looking at those BH, you can learn few good thing that you may not notice from day life. One of those BH are well success and thats why other follow and build side by side hoping to lure the old BH young bird. Always if possible, building front or side of success old bird house are good choice of location.
  All have slide roof about 25 degree at the monkey house. Slide rood have good advantage of swiftletfarming but most people only building the roof horizontal level at the monkey house.
  By looking at the color of the building and the barb wire place at center of the 3 BH, I guest center are old BH, the next door are follower and building side by side may not be a good decision as eventhough the hole are pretty near but the flying pattern are totally different. The corner lot will have better success rate of sharing old BH bird depending also by the structure of internal BH.

 By looking at the pulling speaker, it seem like no cover of the speaker wire which expose to sun and rain, may cause connection failure and cost of maintenance after some time.

 This are really quite big size and they got 2 of them side by side.

 Check out the tweeter, the tweeter are originally square, they took out the front part and use the rear only.

 Can you see whats wrong with the entrance hole? We will talk about this entrance hole thing why and where it should be best put on, why left or right, why not center. will talk about this topic in future.

 Remember always not to have single object such as this pole on the middle of the main room.

 This is new, a steel frame on the ground which they make a hole on the ground first, wonder how its works. or just that to prevent from fall to the hole.??

 Big ventilate pipe on the entrance wall are not a goo idea. And this are totally useless. Notice they also build a 3 feet wall on the ground near stair way. Also this is not correct.

At the end, I already point out all the sickness and problem they face with this BH and no wonder its zero result. Double wall facing sun rise and sun set, even though the BH are full of ventilation hole but still no use as the heat energy are too absorb and when I enter the BH, I can feel atleast of 35 to 38c hot.
Hopefully the owner will decide to revamp and take away all the sickness of the BH and may upcoming breading season will have full house harvest.

Respirator Masks Respiratory Protection must use

Until today, I found that still many people does not wear any Respirator Masks or dust mask when they enter the bird house. I had seen people who fall sick because of this and they still not recover until today.

Please click on the picture to enlarge, you will see all those dust capture only by camera with flash where our human eyes does not see in dark environment. Its like dust rain.

I ask them why ; you are not wearing any protection mask? they then answer " I am good- extraordinary " not need- I m healthy " only smell doesnt kill. { you are just too scare}. !! what kind of jokes is this !! I told them they are really wrong and I show them this photo where the camera had capture so much dust inside the air of bird house where human eye does not see inside the dark environment. If you are not wearing anything, you will breath in those dust and inside this dust there will be also germ, micro germ, dust mite, and might caries deceases from those wild bird where might lead to sickness.
You should wear at least a simple mask, if possible buy more proper one for the sake of your health. Otherwise you will be lying on the hospital bed at the day your bird house harvest 1000kilo, but no meaning already.

Johor Bahru the highest price Bird House selling Rm4800000

Today pass by Johor Bahru town, meeting another swiftletfarming kaki. according to this friend, the highest price of BH selling in JB, was this tall building use to be a hotel. Rm4800000. I wonder how much nest inside?? I guest the owner must be very enjoying now. vacations, big house, expensive car, young chicks. haha!

Note that there a light put on the entrance hole at the second photo, some people dont know why some other people put a light there and most of the people just follow, you might want to follow as well. But where exactly the appropriate place and how bright and whats the time for switch on. some say the light work for guiding the bird to know the way of home, haha! Do you think so? there s too much light on the street that might confuse the bird if the light work this way. But if the light are not function as guide, what does it sitting there for? You might want to find out why??

Location check for singapore customer at Tiram

Back few week, a customer from singapore have point me to check a location at Tiram, he want to buy the shoplot 2 unit double storey if the location are good. Finally I squeez out some time to check the location today.
Upon arrive at the location, I found that the area already been full of birdhouse, fully occupied. I think this area must be good for swiftlet farming, there s a small river near by, and full of trees, small jungle area and palm plantation. The most important things are the shop lot really cheap only Rm2xxxxx per unit double storey.

I have took some photo on the location, by looking on the above photo, look like this owner are making their own bazooka. Making DIY bazooka are the cheapest way of tracking far bird and minimize the noise in you own proximity. But looking at the 4 way pulling speaker, obviously the owner doesnt really know how this speaker works. the roof of the BH had already blocking the sound to go 4 direction, the pole should be using higher one to go at least few meter more. 

I notice this BH are using 2 external speaker on the main entrance hole wall and doesnt seem to have adequate external speaker on the entrance hole. quite rare in this area.

 

From above photo I notice this owner are using rare technic for releasing head from the roof of the shop.

 This are the shop thats about to be sale. nothing more suitable for swiftlet farming. There s already been about 5 to 10 BH in this shop area. And the next door are playing crazy loud sound which really disturbing.
Here s another owner that really dont know what they are doing. Using a 4 way pulling speaker inside a surrounding buiding??!!!. All the noise that hitting the building wall and reflective one each other causing high level of noise which super annoying to the people who live around. Always this selfish BH owner that causing all those complain and hate emotion amount public towards all Swiftlet farmer. The 4 way pulling speaker always must high enough so the sound wont be blocking by the wall or any object and go further on free air till tracking of far away bird, putting on the tops of  roof should be more appropriate( minimizing the reflective noise). I believe this BH will not be staying long time cause some one will take down the speaker one day. Seriously the town council will take action either.

 I noted that most of the BH owner in Malaysia really dont know what they are doing, they just follow blindly. If you are one of them, you better contact me.
After report to the customer, he inform me that he will contact the agent and let me convert the shop as soon as the document have been approve.

Converting a shop lot at Senai.

I was so busy doing some revamp and converting 5 birdhouse few month back. Here are one of the converting shop lot at Senai (Johor). Here the first pic are the main entrance, which direction do you thing its heading, most of the people prefer heading east direction( I think you know why, if you dont, you better contact me).

The great Meranti use for nesting plank. Quality and expensive stuff. Remember to keep them in the clean and dry area as possible as they will be generating money soon.

Around 200pc of speaker use for this project. Quality speaker cable are used to ensure quality sound obtain.

Wall must go down to make ways for entrance.

Amplifier I am using 2 unit, 1 unit of higher power for playing ground floor and second floor internal sound, and another one for external sound. They are build in with digital timer, 6 programable on off time, there will be no external timer require. If you like to know more of these amplifier usb player, contact me.

 

 Some tools that I am using, for those who newly building your own birdhouse. Starting from left, speaker terminal clip( Rm0.18 each- make sure you use the good quality one) Cable tacker, this tacker are not the same as the market one, on the head got cable guide and using U nail.( fast and easy), speaker clip clamp(most of people use normal plier = very slow and loosely result.) cable peeler and cutter.

 This area already been around 20 of the shop converting to bird house, here a near by one, the owner told me that already been 3 years and zero nest. Take a look at the entrance hole pulling speaker, quite odd.

Today morning I was going to check whether all speaker are working well, the time I walk in the entrance with light, Wow!! so many swiftlet that I never have before, round 80 of them flying around the main hall , I was so shock and happy after I saw so many bird shit on the floor. swiftlet farming starter guide

Swiftlet farming starter guide.
I came up with a easy guide here because last week some one(Mr Tan) from Senai asking me to visit his newly build birdhouse and after setting up the sound system and he really dont know what to do following. He told me he was so eager and rushing to build him a dream bird house after attempt of few seminar. Can you give me some guide? I really dont know what to do beside waiting.

Easy Starter Guide 

1. getting swiftlet to come to your bird house.
2. getting more swiftlet to come to your bird house.
3. getting more more swiftlet to come to your bird house.

He then reply " I also know lah but how?"
The main thing of getting the swiftlet to come and enter and stay inside and build their nest inside our birdhouse.

Sound

• Using the bird call sound to attract those wild swiftlet to come inside the bird house.
• Using Aroma . can be inside , near nesting plank or some at entrance hole.
• Using Fake nest. Can be Paper made, ready made, or styrofoam ( not prefer-)
• Some other optional are running water inside and insect  at the entrance hole or roving area.
• Build a VIP room ect.....

Playing the sound (external sound, pulling sound, internal sound, colony sound ) to attract the birds.
What type of sound and when we play it.
Internal Sound : 
setting A) only baby bird sound to be play 24hours.
setting B) Mix of baby bird and young bird to be play 24hours.
setting C) spot colony sound, spread baby bird sound, spot external sound.
setting D) .......

External Sound :
setting A) only external sound mix with some baby bird sound and adult bird and mating sound.
setting B) Hexagonal or bazooka speaker attracting far distance bird, surrounding colony sound, 2 speaker playing internal sound at the entrance hole, 4 high efficient speaker playing attract sound at entrance hole.
setting C) ......

external sound should be play from early morning when the bird are ready to fly out from the bird house and searching for food(5am - 9am). And stop when all the bird are returning home(5pm - 9pm), the time will varies by the season and location and country, estimate an hour after sky getting dark. some people prefer play extra hour as long as not disturbing your neighbours and getting complain.

what type of external sound on what season of the year.
1) mating sound
2) female sound calling for mating.
3) nesting sound.
4) feeding sound.

According to info, the best time to attract swiftlet are at the rainy season and dry season. Which falls at the end of year normally will start raining until round february  and dry season at middle of year start from Jun to August. This is because of available in lot of foods (insect) for the bird trigger by rain, normally by this season we will see a lot of flies insect at those street light at night. The swiftlet will start reproduction process where they have enough of food to supplies for the body to process salivary for building the nest. According to info: the base of the nest are build by male swiftlet and the top and outer round shape are build by female swiftlet.

This are all just some reference , may not be accurate in application as we all know our earth are getting sick and the climate had changed, global warming, pollution , temperature changes had resulting the whole process in the swiftlet world to changes as well dramatically as I received a lot of unexplainable fenomenon which happen around us. One of them are all swiftlet are seem to be disappear back few month and the laying egg process had getting delay. I had received a lot of question asking my opinion of why their bird are getting less in number, they dont see that much bird anymore comparing last year.

The best way to overcome this nature changes are by carefully observing the birds behavior, the surrounding and make any necessary change if there a need.

Monitoring and control the temperature and humidity of the bird house to where its best suite for the swiftlet nature habitat. By using temperature and humid logger and hygro temp gadget and humidifier machine.

Keep the predator away such as owl, ant, cockroach, rats and gecko. By applying those insect powder(economy way-made in china) or buying those expensive liquid insect killer. But never the bygond or reedsect which smell so awful and until your birds run away.
